I became an ADN, RN in 1985 upon graduating from Owen's Technical College. I worked for many years in a wide variety of areas-mainly Critical Care and ER. I have held various leadership and executive roles and even owned a nurse consulting firm for 5 years. In 2008, I graduated from Spring Arbor University with my BSN & a minor in Leadership. In 2011, I completed my MSN specializing in Nursing Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. In 2016, I completed my DNP with a specialty in Leadership from The University of Toledo. I worked as a bedside nurse for 31 years and have worked in academia for over 11 years-3 years as a full-time instructor at UT. I am in my second year as the UT CON Undergraduate Programs Director (BSN & RN-BSN). I am published and my publication history began in 2010 while working with Dr. Paul Rega. Our Evacuation article is in The Journal of Disaster Medicine. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the Ohio Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. I appreciate a collaborative work environment where everyone contributes to the overall success of the workplace and all share the unified priority of caring for our patients, our team, and oneself. My research interest is in the realm of Translational Research and Evidence-based Practice in the specialty areas of Leadership, Critical care, Stroke Care, and Nursing Education.
