This project also listed in Service. In this project, UToledo worked with the company TutorSmart to support tutoring at two Toledo Elementary schools: Old Orchard Elementary and Escuela SMART Academy. Though the project was previously reported as ending in May 2024, we opted to extend it into an on-campus six-week activity titled “Rocket Tutors” in May and June and to open it to students in both schools covered by the grant. This activity did not include participation from TutorSmart. My role is described further under University Service.<br><br>
<p>As the Arts-Integration Specialist for the High-Dosage Tutoring Project,I assist in the recruitment and instruction of the tutors and supplied arts-integration expertise throughout the school year and write most of the arts-integrated instructional plans for math that are used on a weekly basis, bilingual, and scale to three different levels of difficulty. that were utilized on a weekly basis by the program. In Summer 2024 for “Rocket Tutors” I additionally crafted six more arts-integrated instructional plans for math, ordered supplies, and administrated two weeks of the camp.<br><br></p>
Bilingual materials produced and presented Summer 2022 through Summer 2023. Included here are only the primary instructional booklets, not the supplemental materials; for each, either the Spanish or the English version is uploaded. These lessons were taught to tutors who then led them as one part of their tutoring activities with K-5 students who were enrolled in high-dosage math tutoring. <br>
