In this leadership role, I strategically assembled the writing group with members across the world, delegated assignments, facilitated productive discussions, and unified diverse perspectives into this manuscript. It is the first official science advisory from a leading cardiovascular organization, the American Heart Association, to formally acknowledge and synthesize the growing body of evidence linking the gut microbiome to blood pressure regulation.
