This study addresses a gap in the extant literature regarding guns on campus and police perspectives in three states facing pressure to pass "Constitutional Carry" or "Permit
Less Carry" legislation. Using survey data and interviews of sworn officers at 100 Colleges and Universities that offer residential housing this study examines the informed
opinions, perceptions and experiences of campus police officers. First, we systematically catalog current university/college policies regarding guns on campuses. Second, we
collect and analyze campus police officers perspectives as they pertain to changes to and experiences with those policies and the presence of guns on campus. Finally, this
study will provide college and university decision-makers with the important voices of those responsible for campus safety as they consider an changes to policies related to guns on campus.
