I helped organize a series of Anti-Racism Teach-Ins over Zoom with K-12 and Higher Ed teachers. I also designed the flyers used for each pair of presentations. The series was supported by the Toledo Public Library system and the Toledo newspaper, Sojourner's Truth (http://www.thetruthtoledo.com/story/2020/082620/teachin.htm)
My presentation documents my realization that systemic racism had insinuated itself into the policies and structures that I use as a teacher, and that having had this realization it was now my responsibility to do something about it. My presentation addresses the concepts that lead to my epiphany and the steps I took to an antiracist transformation of my curriculum.
