  • Timothy Geiger is a poet and the proprietor of the Aureole Press, a letterpress imprint established in 1989, devoted to crafting handmade books and broadsides of serious contemporary poetry by both new and acclaimed authors in finely printed limited editions. The press’s books and broadsides are housed in many significant special collections including the University of Alabama, SUNY-Buffalo, and the Beinecke Rare Book Collection at Yale University, He received dual MFA degrees from the University of Alabama, in Poetry and Letterpress Printing in 1994. Since 1997 the Aureole Press has been housed at the University of Toledo where Mr. Geiger is a professor of English. He teaches Creative Writing, Poetry, and courses in Letterpress Printing and Book Design. He is also the author of three full-length collections of poetry, "Weatherbox," (Cloudbank Books, 2019) winner of the 2019 Vern Rutsala Poetry Prize, “The Curse of Pheromones,” (Main Street Rag Press, 2008) and “Blue Light Factory,” (Spoon River Poetry Press, 1999) and nine chapbooks. His work has been widely published in such venues as Poetry, America, New Delta Review, Quarterly West, Black Warrior Review and Mid-American Review. He is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize XVIII and a Holt, Rinehart and Winston Award in Literature as well as many state and local grants in Alabama, Minnesota, and Ohio.
