  • During her tenure at The University of Toledo, Dr. Skaidrite Stelzer has taught over forty-five different courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  Her teaching has been interdisciplinary, including not only English Department courses, but also courses in the University Honors Program and College, the Master of Liberal Studies Program, the Women’s and Gender Studies Department, and the Humanities Institute.

    Dr. Stelzer has also served The University of Toledo in a number of administrative capacities.  These include Associate Director of the Honors Program, Director of Business and Scientific Report Writing, and Acting Associate Chair of the English Department.  She has advised and mentored more than several hundred students and directed a number of undergraduate Honors’ Theses as well as Master’s Theses.  She has also served on many Masters and Doctoral Exam committees, as well as been a member of approximately a dozen dissertation committees. She has also been involved in a number of prestigious grants, including an Ohio Board of Regents EECAP grant and a Humanities 2000 grant.

    Dr. Stelzer has presented numerous conference papers at a variety of national and international conferences.  She has also published poetry in many journals and anthologies, and most recently her chapbook, Digging a Moose from the Snow, was published by Finishing Line Press (2021), resulting in a favorable review in Bibliotecos.  She has also co-authored an in-house text, Writing Organizational Reports, which was used for many years by University of Toledo’s Business Writing instructors, and co-edited an in-house manuscript tracing the experiences of women faculty in the English Department at UT.  She currently has several manuscripts circulating for potential publication.
