Positions

overview

  • I am an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology. I am currently board certified in Nephrology with an Ohio State license and am engaged in continuing medical education to maintain my license and certification.

I joined the faculty of the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo College of Medicine) in July 2004 after graduating with an MD degree, receiving residency training in Internal Medicine, Board certification in Internal Medicine and completing a Nephrology fellowship, all in this school. My education and training prior to joining medical school was quite extensive and a path of self-discovery that shaped my long-term career. This included a bachelor’s degree in basic science, a 3-year master’s degree in clinical biochemistry, a PhD degree in biomedical sciences and an NIH post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. During my PhD training and during my medical education I had and raised two wonderful and bright children. I believe that all of the effort that I put into attaining my long-term goal of becoming an academic clinician was driven by my strong determination and an extreme passion to learn and teach medicine and to serve humanity; these are my major personal strengths. I owe my success to the generous help of excellent mentors during the many years of my research and medical training. My goal is to continue to strive towards excellence in my career.
