  • Sheryl A. Milz, PhD, MOD, CIH, FAIHA joined the faculty of the Medical College of Ohio in 2001 and became a faculty member of the University of Toledo in 2006 when the two universities merged. She earned a BS in Biochemistry and an MS in Preventive Medicine (Epidemiology) from The Ohio State University and a PhD in Public Health Sciences (Industrial Hygiene) from the University of Illinois at Chicago, In 2015 she earned a Master of Organization Development (MOD) degree from Bowling Green State University.

    Prior to joining  the faculty at the Medical College of Ohio she was the Safety and Occupational Health Manager at the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL. She also has worked as a field industrial hygienist for the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL and as an epidemiologist for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

    Dr. Milz teaches in both the CEPH accredited Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program and the ABET-ASAC accredited Master of Science in Occupational Health (MSOH) program. She primarily teaches Biostatistics and Public Health Epidemiology. She also has taught Exposure Assessment Strategies, Risk Assessment, Chemical Agents, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Occupational Safety, and Hazard Control.

    Dr. Milz's research interests include exposure assessment in both occupational and environmental settings along with occupational and environmental epidemiology
