Dr. Mehmood Rashid began his medical career at Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh. He then completed his residency in Neurology and a fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of Toledo, followed by a fellowship in Neuro-Otology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Rashid currently services as Assistant Professor, fellowship director for the Movement Disorders fellowship program and Associate Clerkship Director for the Neurology Department at The University of Toledo. He specializes in movement disorders with a special interest in chemodenervation, atypical parkinsonian syndromes and ataxias. Dr. Rashid has a secondary appointment with the Department of Medical Education and co-directs the neuroscience course in the foundational science curriculum. He devotes a large portion of his time to teaching and contributing to the College of Medicine as a member of curriculum committees. He has been a crucial part in updating the curriculum for the neuroscience threads for the first- and second-year medical students. He also volunteers his time to serve as faculty liaison to the Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN), where he provides students with valuable feedback and instruction as they pursue their future career as physicians.
