overview

  • I am currently a tenured associate professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at the University of Toledo , Ohio. I am also the Interim Chair of the Department. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Informatics from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan in 2015. I received an M.S. degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2009. My research interests span ten broad areas - object-oriented programming to design machine learning algorithms; reputation and trust management in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs); secret key generation at the physical layer; localization algorithms for wireless sensor networks; localization and prevention of jamming attacks in VANETs; fraud detection in credit card transactions; detection of wormhole attacks in VANETs; fine-tuning XLNet to detect spam emails; a security orchestration, automation, and response system (SOAR) for connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs); and broadening participation in STEM for traditionally under-represented students.
