I am an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Toledo College of Medicine & Life Sciences. I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, where I subsequently earned my medical degree in 1983. I completed internship, and pediatric residency at the University of Rochester and Rochester General Hospital in New York, where I also served as Chief Resident in Pediatrics. Following a fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at the University of Rochester, I was recruited to join the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Toledo College of Medicine & Life Sciences (formerly Medical College of Ohio). I have been a part-time member of the pediatric faculty since 1988. In addition to my clinical service role, I am a key member of the pediatric educational programs and curriculum. I am involved in the education of various other medical professionals as requested. I previously conducted a Down Syndrome clinic at Mercy Children’s Hospital in Toledo and currently provide this clinical service at ProMedica Ebeid Children’s Hospital in Toledo. In addition, I currently provide a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) follow-up clinic at Nationwide Children's Hospital Toledo. For the past five years, my main research interest has been focused on Down Syndrome Regression Disorder (DSRD).
