  •   Dr. Atlal El-Assaad was an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department and is currently an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Toledo. She completed her Ph.D. from the University of California-Riverside and the American University of Beirut. Her master’s degree is in computer and information Science and her bachelor’s is in electrical and computer engineering, both from the University of Michigan.

      Before devoting her time to academics and research, Dr. El-Assaad was a full-time consultant in Software Engineering at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and PricewaterhouseCoopers, working on different platforms and for different clients across U.S.A.

      Dr. El-Assaad’s teaching interests are in Programming, Data Structures, Databases, Data Mining, and Algorithms. Her research interests are mainly in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and has several publications in the area.
