Ann Carrellas, PhD, LMSW is an assistant professor of social work in the College of Health and Human Services, School of Social Justice. She comes to the University of Toledo from the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Institute located at Wayne State University where she served as the Associate Director for Research. Dr. Carrellas has over 30 years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities and their families in different capacities including direct care, case management, advocacy, administration, research and policy development. She is a presenter on community resources and supports for families including federal, state and local programs. Dr. Carrellas has served as a principal investigator and project manager for a variety of research projects including the Michigan National Core Indicators Survey and Project TEAM, a quasi-experimental research study of an empowerment program for teens with disabilities.
