<p><span><span>Assessing institutional repository (IR) performance and engagement is an essential measurement of institutional investment. Incorporating qualitative and quantitative data into an IR assessment will provide a comprehensive picture of support for research and student learning. The main objective of this study is to determine the extent to which IRs are assessed for evidence of student learning and other unconventional outcomes. Study results will inform future IR <span>assessments</span> and demonstrate that unconventional outcomes such as student retention and success, accreditation, and contribution to advancing Carnegie classification status can underscore the IR's value to a university’s mission and fortify support for IRs.</span></span></p>
