description
-
Edited by Robin Stock and Lee Fearnside

How do we explain our parenting to our children?

Parenting can be poignant. It can be entertaining, frustrating, heartbreaking and fulfilling. For some, it can be out of reach or unwanted, and for others, laced with painful loss. We are sometimes left without the answers, without the words to express exactly what we wish our children could know - about how we feel about them, how we miss them, how we cherish and cheer for them. Letters to Our Children is a collection of nonfiction essays that explore themes of guilt and loss, love and joy. They explore generational trauma, complex family dynamics, and the hard decisions we make as we choose to build – or not – our families. They explore our joys and fears, our worries and our celebrations.

These are Letters to Our Children.

Essays by Hakim Bellamy, Caitlin Cacciatore, Ally Day, Deborah Haber, Holly Hey, Curtis Deeter, Michael Kocinski, DS Mohan, Michelle Otero, Sarah Rainey-Smithback, Rachel Richardson, Sandra Rivers-Gill, Janelee Stock

Featuring art by Dorthe Alstrup, Maggie Denk-Leigh, Erin Holscher-Almazan and Cynthia Katz.
