ALA Services to Refugees, Immigrants, and Displaced Persons Subcommittee and American Libraries

Conference Description: The Services to Refugees, Immigrants, Displaced Persons (SRIDP) subcommittee reports to ALA’s Office of Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services Advisory Committee. The subcommittee is tasked with researching, inventorying, compiling, and publishing best practice toolkits and resources for providing library services to refugee populations across the country and around the world. Recent legislative and administrative actions have impacted immigration policies and the resources available to immigrant communities. This poses challenges to current and future library services and resources for those communities. Our committee aims to provide guidance, support, and networking opportunities during these times. We invite you to learn more about our efforts and share your stories, challenges, and successes with us.
