Sociopolitical Factors That Affect Women's Health in Northern Ireland Article (Web of Science)

abstract

  • In this article the authors examine a combination of poverty-producing characteristics that contribute to poor health standards in Northern Ireland, and profile some unique stressors posed by the military occupation. In so doing, the authors attempt to provide an overview of the social milieu in which women must function. It is an environment with the potential for exacting a great toll on women's physical and emotional well-being.
