She went on to receive her M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2004 and completed a General Psychiatry residency at the University of Toledo Medical Center (formerly the Medical College of Ohio) in 2008. She then worked in rural northern California for four years to fulfill a scholarhip committment to the National Health Service Corps before moving back to Toledo to become faculty at the University of Toledo in 2013. During her entire time as assistant professor, Dr. Riese has specialized in student mental health, treating UT undergradutes, graduate students, medical students and physicians in her practice. She has significant expertise in evaluating and treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders and ADHD. She has also been involved consistently in psychiatry resident education over the years.
